Just an introduction...

Well I'm not much of a writer, but a special someone suggested I blog while I'm out here living in Hawaii. I figured maybe even two people might keep up with this!

Basically the army has moved us again, and for a change, we were able to get the location we asked for. Which puts me five time zones from friends and family. We are residing in the southern part of Oahu on the border of Makakilo. It's been amazing!!! We've been here about 3 weeks, which my husband has been gone for half of it, and we've experienced so much! I keep trying to pace myself, but when you are thrown into a place with perfect temperatures and opportunities to explore, it's hard to stop yourself. After living out of a motel for a week or so, we moved into our 3 bedroom 2 and a half bath town home. WE LOVE IT!!! The dogs have a small yard and we are on a hill that when you drive down you can see a beautiful scene of the ocean. (Yes.. we are only 5 miles away.)So far I'm learning how to capture geckos and throw invading snails and slugs over my fence. Strange, but becoming a morning routine. We have made 2 whole friends here and I have been exploring while Rustin is in California training. I've been snorkeling in the most amazing place of Hanauma Bay.(Watch out for eels!) North shore is amazing in the "winter" with the biggest waves and a town to explore the neatest of things.

I am definitely feeling like a minority here and loving every single bit of it. It's one thing to experience the island as a tourist (which we did when we were married here four years ago), but living here has opened my eyes to a whole new culture. I have concluded that this is enough to start with and I will post again soon along with some pictures.
